Anyone who’s ever seen 2010 when it aired for the first time back in 1984 must have been amazed at the very colorful ship controls.
I myself am a big fan of dark interfaces, especially when they are coupled with bright colors. The computer interfaces on board the Alexei Leonov spaceship in the 2010 movie is the earliest example of this style that I know of. The ship itself is especially colorful, but the movie ofter jumps between the ships bright interior and the dark alien artifact floating around in space.
The whole thing reminds me a lot of working with Sublime Text.
